The debate of size still remains unanswered so I would assume Kong will also get a major transformation from his 50ft old self to a 300 ft rival to Godzilla. Or else, I wouldn't go to theaters just to see a T-rex massacre of a gorilla.

In the theater in my home town, summer 1963, I was 4 years old. Saw it again on TV many times and eventually bought it on VHS then DVD, still holds up as a good installment for the era it was filmed in ( 1962 ).

With the delay to 2019, I wonder if the Godzilla sequel is going to be shot back to back alongside Godzilla vs King Kong as well.

I'm more excited for Godzilla 2 than Godzilla vs King Kong... I've seen a modern take on Kong, it wasn't worth it... they're not even close to the same height and unless you make Kong atomic, it's the only fight more ridiculously outmatched than BvS..

Also put out by Warner. Oh fushnuckers. Are they that desperate?

Anyway, enough about the blatant cash grab... ok, more blatant one..., I want to see Edwards and his team take the right amount of time to redesign the classic Ghidorah gang for Godzilla 2. Right, it's Godzilla, it needs a title and not a number unless it's the year. Too bad Godzilla's Revenge was already taken. Oh right...

Some other, slightly less classic options. Destroy Most Monsters! GMRK: This Time We Didn't Kill Bryan Cranston's Character! Ghidorah, The Three Headed Monster with Some Godzilla, Time Permitting. Terror of Godzilla.

Godzilla Onslaught. Actually, I really like that one.

But I'm not fan of GvKK being scheduled for release a mere year later. Sure, all the design work was done for earlier movies-even if one of them was and probably will again be junk- but the planned time frame makes it feel like it's one of those "We shot two sequels at once.. just because we could!" situations.

@enurtsol I saw it and dislike it, as all Godzilla films besides the highly relevant original. The new one was ok i guess. The character has potential so I may get a 2nd film i can fully like if they go on long enough.
Mothra is my favorite Kaiju. His films suck too but i find the the concept to be unbelievably hilarious.

Hope they start introducing some of the classic monsters and concentrate a little bit more on the fights. TBH I prefer the guys in suits over any western godzilla made so far :-\

Think more people remember the name than remember seeing the movie.
You'd......remember the movie if you'd seen it.

(Which is likely more than will be said about the '14 Godzilla in '19.
At the time, we were all geeking out on "Whew, they didn't ruin it like last time!", but that's a very short-term emotion.)

No, just that the '14 version was put out by Legendary Pictures, and was dumped into the same Pacific Rim jokes about all Legendary Pictures being dark, rain-soaked and gloomy, giving us "The Dark Lizard Trilogy".
Apart from Jurassic World, we haven't heard much from Legendary Pictures SINCE the '14 Godzilla, and although they were the Man of Steel company, they actually didn't give us Batman v. Superman, even though that one sure looked like a Legendary Picture.
Leaving aside GZ films six years from now, the biggest movie they're IMDb'ing at the moment is (snicker!) Warcraft, so....I still wonder what happened to them.

And yeah, it'll be a fight over who does own Kong--Technically, he's an RKO player, so he should be Warner, but Universal keeps claiming rights on him over the Jackson version and the DeLaurentiis sequel. At this point, they should just keep their ambitions small and hope G2 works out.

Like that robot inventor won’t name which celebrity he modeled the droid after Laughing

Still, we just saw more preview of the Major in the newly-released Captain America: Civil War

I'd love to see a new Mothra film. They don.'the call her the Queen of Monsters for nothing.
