Why? The name? A name that's pulled literally from a very old religious concept? You are aware the deadly sins were a thing long before Nakaba Suzuki's GRANDPARENTS were even born, right? He didn't come up with the idea at all. And using fanservicey devil ladies to represent the sins is very different to Nakaba Suzuki's manga.

FWIW should be noted that this 'knockoff' is based on a figure line that I'm pretty sure came out before Suzuki's shonen manga. Even the anime was announced back in 2012 before it was stuck in production and only in recent months has there been notable progress

http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2012/10/24/bishoujo-seven-deadly-sins-anime-announced

and Suzuki's manga only had a few chapters out at the time of that announcement.

While they're both different franchises with different target audiences had delays not been an issue the shonen series would probably be seen as a knockoff by the time its anime project occurred and then helped it grow in popularity in 2014 (and 2015 when the dub hit Netflix)

Damn, they gonna sell some figures! Shocked
A couple of interesting looking characters, though only Leviathan strikes me as "my type", generally. Not going to watch this, whatever it is, but I would probably buy a figure of her, if it is nicely sculpted.

i wouldnt be so sure about that. dont forget that valkyrie drive mermaid as well as bikini warriors was also made by the same people that did queens blade and they unfortunately had those two series completely filled with fanservice. it didn't had the balance between fanservice and story development that queens blade seasons one and two had.

hopefully here is hoping that they learned from their errors and will include thing that made queens blade very popular. and considering who is directing this series, its a sign in the right direction if yasuda is in FULL control of the series.
