Wow, this sounds absolutely magical. I really wish there was a way to see the Ghibli shorts outside of going to the museum. I'll most likely be there next Spring though, so I'll get to see something, at least. Not sure how long they usually keep the same ones playing.

Though certainly pleasant to the eye by caterpillar standards, I cannot help but wonder whether Boro would be more versatile if said character had been another species of garden fauna altogether.

A frog, perhaps...

"Boro the caterpillar" is scheduled to be screened in the museum's Saturn Theater until August 31.

As you noted, not easy to prepare for a visit and plan around which film you'll want to see when you arrange the admission ticket to the museum in advance.

On very rare occasions there have been screenings of certain of these shorts outside the museum at overseas venues.
