Sinking of Japan, huh? I always wondered what that movie was called. Had it's trailer downloaded on my computer since July.

Good news for Gedo Senkai, though.

I would have thought foreign films would have done worse then the native ones to. I mean I guess it makes since considering that alot of Japanese are into foreign things I suppose movies are no exception.

It's so weird (From a North American standpoint) to see that our movies out grossed a Japanese film...I mean when did a foreign film ever break into the top grossing for a year in the US? Has there? Well at least we know one thing, people in Japan are still going to see Studio Ghibli films. I can't wait to see Gedo Senki, but I am not too sure when that's going to happen.

i'm surpsied that World trade Center is on that list.
Harry Potter is a huge seller everywhere- and it doesn't surprise me it did so well. What with all the HP doujinshi out there.

Well Pirates seemed to follow close with Harry Potter, the only other double digit maker on that list. And it's great to hear that a another Ghibli film has done great, even if it wasn't something by Hayao Miyazaki.
