This will be nice for those that are interested in anime Kinetic Novels. I'll take a look at it if it ever comes up on Steam.

For those who don't know, a kinetic novel is a game type where there's normally a single ending and no plot branching. So you practically play the game like reading a book.

Ryoushiki07 and Key/VA seem like a great combination and good move to do something without Jun Maeda writing. Being a Planeterian fan, I'm "hyped" for this Smile

Key has a number of releases with no Maeda involvement (both past and future), and he just published a novel that by all account is reviewing well. Seems like a pretty needless jab.

Is this Ryukishi07 and Key's only major collaboration? I know the former worked on one of the routes for Rewrite, but I think that's about it?

Their works may seem pretty different at a glance (although I guess the basic structure of Ryukishi's Iwaihime feels sort of in line with a lot of Key works underneath the visceral/delusional horror elements), but its a really interesting combo that I think could totally work.

It is. I think Ryukishi07 had worked on some other titles outside of his When They Cry franchise, but this is apparently the only one he did with Key apart from Rewrite.

(TBH, my memories of Key do tend to be a bit wonky. I always felt Kud Wafter came after Angel Beats! while it's actually the other way around.)

Correct, this is his first large involvement aside from route in Rewrite. He did do a game with Hinoue Itaru, Key's former main illustrator, however. And it's interesting since Ryukishi's influence on his games are from Key.

At Anime Expo in 2016 I caught R07 and Itaru's panels and they didn't seem to have interacted before. I like to think some meetings took place for these people and companies to start something.
