I was excited about the possibility of winning tickets to the Shoujo Beat party, until I saw that, once again, this is a contest excluding Canadians. Despite the fact that we buy and subscribe to the magazine.

-_-

I actually go to the Asian Art museum (short bus ride) every couple of months. My parents are members and like to go there often as well. The permanent Japanese collection is fairly large, and the rotating exhibits have guided tours. The museum opened a couple of years ago and is very nice. I would love to hear what the guided tour has to say about Tezuka. The De Young museum (across the street from my house) just reopened last year as well and is amazing. It's a must see for anyone coming to SF to tour museums.

Regardless, I think people in America have to pay their airfare to go...(I think I read that somewhere...) so there's no point anyway...stupid contest.

Will you guys actually get a guided (pre-recorded, I presume you mean) tour? It's only a small exhibition (about 5 smallish rooms).

The rotating exhibit is the the bottom floor (like the De Young and Legion of Honor) where the material is displayed in a few rooms. There has been a guided tour for every other rotating exhibit that the Asian Art Museum has had which is usually hosted by a very knowledgeable staff member. The last time there was a Japanese exhibit it was hosted by an older first generation Japanese who spoke English fluently. I seriously go there all the time since the N Muni rail line goes from my street to a block from the museum. Maybe I should enter that contest...

I know seriously, the only thing we get down here in LA are screenings and oh yea I did go to an I am 8-bit opening which was interesting. I should of bought some art while I was there, perhaps I will find a reason to get up to SF during summer seeing as how I am not going to have any school.....
