Gonzo still exists? I thought the entire company was basically Studio Kai now.

Edit: Sad that Romeo x Juliet isn't included in this, that's my favorite show by them

Gosh, Gankutsuoh and Last Exile were fine pieces of work --- among the best anime of their time.

Not much else from Gonzo really stood out for me, but I kept hoping for that particular lightning to strike again.

That last paragraph of the article detailing Gonzo's ventures is an utter mess to read. I was under the impression that they ended up folding but somehow they're still clawing their way around. Do they actually exist as a company anymore outside of pure technicality? They seem to just sound like a holding shell.

Sort of. They transferred most of the staff to Studio Kai. They only made like one OVA since under Gonzo trademark.

they're still operating but moved their staff and CGi staff to Studio Kai which produced what they left from and both are owned by ADK.

Um, yeah still not a fan of animation studios needing fans to fund their pet projects. I'm sure GONZO has made enough over the years that they could have funded this campaign themselves

Even more so when they've gotten involved with NFTs. It gives the impression that the company is on its last legs and hopes that old memories will somehow drive people to keep them going on their own.

Considering the drop off in production from Gonzo, this reads more like some sort of crowd funded advertising to drum up contracts.

if it's legal it's okay but this type that gonzo wants is more like what trigger done before but not in a direct way in thier case.
