Wow. Talk about an ungrateful fanbase. Stone Ocean had a few deviations and deficits in its adaptation, but you didn't see JoJo fans demanding it be remade. CSM got a wonderfully cinematic take on the material and they want to complain? I guess some people will never be satisfied.

Which also got me curious that Chainsaw Man Anime BD’s preorder number is, while decent when compare to normal numbers, definitely on the low side consider amount of resources and talent put into the production. So are the fans in Japan unhappy about the anime in general? Or something else keeps the blu ray number high? Another one of my favorite this season, spy family got extraordinary viewership, bd sales and manga boost, so what chainsawman anime lack specifically?

Again, I love both so much so it is hard for me to decipher why

I remain firmly convinced that anime fans have the worst takes of any fandom I'm a part of.

This is pretty normal for the typical fanboi that didn't get enough jackoff material in his favorite anime adaptation. If anyone expected these sort of fans to act differently, we wouldn't need the police to safeguard voice actresses based on the characters they voiced.

Hence why [adult swim] loves dunking on them so much.

An adaptation is just that, an adaptation. If you go in expecting the exact same thing, but in a different medium, you are bound to be disappointed to some degree. With this one in particular, I don't think any differences are the result of the director misunderstanding anything.

I didn't watch Chainsaw Man because of the hype but I WILL praise its animation quality and character designs. Hell even I think that Power, Makima & Himuro are kinda hot lookin'.

For yutzes to petition a complete redo for Chainsaw Man because they weren't pleased with the adaptation? Gimme a break. Frell, imagine if this happened for every anime series, I mean gadzooks. I think people should petition a remake of ExArms. From what I heard and what little I saw of it, it was BAD!!

Dude, I barely noticed changes. If I were to request for próspero remakes I would ask for Bee Train's Tsubasa and tms' d.Gary-Man hallow due to their apparent low budget and awkward pacing. Tsubasa was slow as heck while Hallow was too quick

As an anime only, something definitely feels off but I'm not really sure what it is. Dumb petition either way. Basically just Karen-ing knowing that nothing will ever come of this.

Just be normal and tell people they can drop $3 on a Shonen Jump sub to read it all as GodFujimoto intended, jeez.

Is 2,000 a lot for a petition of this kind? It seems like an awfully small number as a percentage of people watching the show, especially if the petition is getting attention in mainstream anime news circles like ANN.

An anime adaption can't be completely 1 - 1 with the source material. I can understand the frustration when things are cut or changed.

HOWEVER, these people are being overly picky. Chainsaw Man is still one of the best anime adaptions in recent memory with insane production value. They're annoyed because of the "film-like" direction???

If those people knew anything about Fujimoto is that he loves his films

In a world where redo of anime would be a common thing, let alone this Fall, out of all 2022 tv anime and as a someone who religiously read the manga since the first month, Chainsaw Man would be among the last one i would ask for a redo. If just a quarter of the animes each season had this level of quality i'd cry of joy enough to flood my house and drown.

This honestly wasn't worth having an article made about it, just gives unnecessary attention to these ungrateful fans that will somehow make them think "We got an article made about us, now we'll totally look legitimate"

Don't blame certain fans for being upset. This was meant to be the big standout anime of 2022, but it ended up not even being the standout anime of its own season. And while the direction is not the only factor in that, it's certainly one of them.
