This was unexpected. I'm more of a S/Z guy with Bit Cloud, but I wonder what they will announce with the OG.

No way. Is it a remaster, or a completely new anime project?

I'm kinda freaking out right now. Zoids was basically my first anime. I still build the models. If this is a sequel with Van and Fiona, I don't know what I'll do.

But on another note, I really hope they rerelease the first series on DVD and maybe Blu-Ray. I own all the original DVDs, but for others it's not exactly easy to find nowadays. You can still find most of them on eBay, but for a crazy high price,.

"Original Zoids Franchise" made me think they'd be going back to like, the first kit stories, rather than the first anime.

Well no one tell Grant Morrison. They got their first gig in writing a Zoids comic for the UK, and don’t like when it’s bought up.

Is it a sequel, remake or a new project as a whole?

Oh snap, Van and Fiona! Blade Liger!

I devoured everything Zoids back when I was a kid. Returning back to the original anime for a new work is a 100% must-buy for me.

(I wouldn't mind a return for Bit and the gang either...)

If it was a new standalone Zoids entry they probably wouldn't have tied it so heavily to the original series.

It's either teasing a re-release of the show (the Blu-Rays are a decade old), some sort of sequel or just an anniversary product line.

I always liked Chaotic Century. Zero was alright, but I prefered the more adventure theme of the first show compared to sports and tournaments.

The newer series were alright. Good kits, though.

Whatever it is I hope it has a longer shelf life than Zoids Wild which just came and went and they barely did much to promote it and it's not even on any streaming platforms in the US anymore. I also remember people not being very impressed with the video game they did.

The teaser was for a rerun of the original series on Tokyo MX beginning next month. Rolling Eyes

They said they're working on making it available in "other countries."

Who knows if it'll actually get an official English simulcast, though. Whistle! got re-aired a few years back, complete with a brand new Japanese cast (so it was as "new" as it could get without a full-on reboot), yet that got completely ignored by all streaming sites.
