I guess it's because it was a 2020 show, but the Akudama Drive anime feels like it came out both yesterday and a million years ago.

Why even make manga adaptation of the anime? It should always be anime adaptation of the manga usually.

Must be really difficult to imitate the anime action. Kinda like the Gurren Lagann manga.

Interesting, didn't realize there was a manga. Wonder how much it adds or deviates from the anime. This was one of those shows that hit a lot harder than I expected it to, so it's still stuck with me since airing.

I guess it's nice to be reminded of the series even if it's the manga adaption finally finishing.

This show was such an absolute banger. One of the best anime of the 2020's thus far.

I thought the opposite, extremely lackluster characters and overall, an easily forgettable series.

The MC was a good character. Also, it's not often we get endings like that. It's basically a heist anime and a little sci-fi, which we also don't get very often. I appreciate the style and subject matter. It was not however remotely close to being the best anime of 2020. There were way better shows out during that time.

Might be hard to understand this but not everyone watches anime for one reason or the next.

I liked the first 2/3 or so of the anime when it was all style over substance since the anime certainly wasn't lacking when it came to style, but disliked the last third after the team split up. It was taking itself much more seriously so it wasn't dumb fun like the first 2/3s, but the writing wasn't anywhere near good enough to support what it was trying to do so none of the emotional beats landed, so it just didn't work for me.

Is the manga different enough that it would be worth reading?
