I cannot relate to any perspective that sees Anubis as a negative. I am here for a shrill, scheming dog-man obsessed with court etiquette, and I was delighted to hear him start most of the next-episode previews with an angry shout.

I thought Sariphi's energy was more or less in-line with my memory of the manga. I'd be curious to know what language you read it in, though.

Overall, I'm just happy to see a shoujo manga adaptation pulling off this kind of pacing and looking solid while doing it (especially after what happened with Requiem of the Rose King).

Amit really is one of the best characters in the series! Shout out to Cy and Clops too!!! I love them

Looking forward to the second half. Hopefully, we’ll get answers on how Leo turned out to be a werehuman. We saw that both his biological parents were beasts so where exactly did this human blood come from? A sacrifice?

As someone who has read the manga, I cannot wait for you people to find out the twists going on in that scenario. Twisted Evil

I honestly assumed the king bedded a human woman but the way he seems to act with revulsion towards Leo's human side makes me honestly wonder...

one really petty nitpick I have with this review: the prefix "were-" means "man". So a "Were-wolf" is a "man-wolf". a "Were-human" therefore would be a "Man-human", which... doesn't really fit Laughing I think "Were-beast" should suffice here, really.

Both French and English, and it could have been the fact that this is the third language I'm experiencing it in that's causing the disconnect. That doesn't usually happen, but sometimes it does.

...I did it on purpose, because I have a terrible sense of humor. Embarassed And also because to the beasts "human" and (implied human) "man" are insults, so it seemed to fit thematically.

Oh, I'd love to see how it reads in French. (Regrettably, the only French bookstore in several hours drive of me closed five years ago, so I have no idea how I'd find a copy.)

I've only read it in Japanese, but I just reread chapter one to compare against the anime. I could see a slightly more somber read for some of Sariphi's lines, but a lot of her dialogue does come off as kind of light and bubbly to me, especially when she's exclaiming over things. I think part of that is her casual, feminine speech in contrast to the stiffer, somewhat old-fashioned Leonhart and Anubis, and the way she says their titles phonetically (おーさま and サイショーさん, with "-san" for the latter being a little funny on its own) definitely adds to it.
