They're really going all out with this.

Why are they making "Rick and Morty:The Anime?" There doesn't seem to be any real reason for it. The shorts weren't bad,but there doesn't really seem to be a need for a show like this. I can see other shows that might deserve an anime version, but this one? Why? I don't get it. If they made a "Tenchi Muyo" anime set in America,I might see it. But,"Rick and Morty?" I didn't see it as a cartoon. I'm not going to see as an anime.

Toonami should give it an english dub and aired it both sub and dub just like Ninja Kamui. It feels jarring to see rick and morty in japanese dub.

Given one of the main English voice actors was the creator who got fired, that might be difficult.

Then again, the most recent season recast both roles, so if they do dub it they can just use them for the voices.

Pretty sure it's not dubbed deliberately. Being in Japanese is part of what makes it anime. Maybe they'll release a dub later on but the Japanese dub is part of the novelty.

I am pretty sure that both Rick and Morty got new voice actors as of the latest season. I think there may still be a shot at getting a English dub soon.

Yeah, iirc they said it's basically part of the "gimmick" of having an anime. Which makes sense, because why would you even do an anime* if you're gonna have all the same voices?

*I mean "why would you do this?" is gonna be the question that's asked about this whole show in general from its announcement up until months after it's over (even if it's somehow good which I very much doubt).

the gimmick falls apart when you realize the other anime shorts were dubbed in other languages, and this upcoming anime series likely will be dubbed too for foreign markets. At this point, not having an English audio track makes no sense anymore, regardless of their artistic or creative reasons behind this.

And Justin Roiland's firing has nothing to do with this either. They already got replacements since last year's season(and in fact,Roiland already recorded that season. They decided to re-recorded his work so they could transition to new voices and be rid of him as fast as they could)

Yeah the whole thing doesn't work without the Japanese language track. If you dub it it's just Rick and Morty with a different animation style.

Ahh I didn't know the English show was continuing, as I do not follow it. Well no reason they cannot then.
