Will there be suffering? I want it to involve some good ecchi, just to the anguish on people's faces who expect another Madoka.

Well it is either magical girls show or the characters suffer from identity complex and want to stand out by wearing some shitty clothes which they got for free at McDonald's.

And thus every R1 licensor gets into a bidding war over this assuming it'll be the next Madoka. Laughing

My guess would be no (at least not Meguca-tier). Gotta lull people back into a false sense of security with a few seasons worth of typical stuff, and all.

Madoka with older girls?

Actually scratch that, I don't think it's written by Urobuchi Gen.

I don't think they are actually even older (a couple years at the most, maybe)-- the girls of Madoka were between 13 & 15, and that looks to be the same age range here.

It seems too soon for there to be another magical series as grim-dark as Madoka was... that, and it's hard for me to think of another way for am magical girl series to be creatively grim-dark beyond the already-handled execution of Madoka. Perhaps its out of line for me to say this, since I haven't seen any of Nanoha... but maybe this could be a series more like that (or that highly praised second season of it), though perhaps less bloated with a tighter episode count and better pacing? That sense of bloatedness emanating from the episode counts & super episodic structure of other magical girl shows is one of the reasons why I haven't actively pursued anymore of the magical girl genre after Madoka (unless you consider Princess Tutu & Revolutionary Girl Utena, but they don't feel as genre-specific as Madoka does to me).

They should write the cute mascot to have a family. (Have they done mascots with children?) And over time, the girls find out the true reason they were trained by him is because his children were kidnapped by the baddies and he needed strong warriors to be able to get them back.

D'awww, daddy mascot.

spoiler[But after the baddies are successfully defeated, it's revealed that his children are actually elderitch abominations that eat entire universes and the baddies were survivors from previous universes trying to save the rest by keeping the monsters contained. And then the earth is eaten. The end.

The sequel revolves around the surviving magical girls training new fighters from other planets to take the monsters down (in the most goriest, bloodiest ways possible).]

But anyways... GREEN GIRL! Very Happy You'll never match Fuu in my eyes, but I do love your outfit. (Oh, hey look, bow and arrow for greenie... and does bluebob have a guitar? Huh.)

---

EDIT: Oh hey, I just noticed that those are three different mascots in the picture - one for each girl I'm guessing. They must be brothers. Jim-Bob, Joe-Bob, and Billy-Bob-Joe.

Is it just me, or do the character designs look an awful lot like Kantoku? He's one of the up and coming LN artists now, and his Hentai Oji LN just got an anime adaption as well.
