I'm just a little confued on the language. The articles keep calling it a remake of the film which was an adaptation of the manga.

It seems a little odd not to just call it a separate adaptation.

I guess it means that they definitely want to use elements unique to the previous movie, of which there are a few, but that disappoints me. And I say that without ever having actually read the manga and knowing what the differences are.

Park-Chan Wook is one of my favorite writer-directors working today, top ten without a doubt, but I'd rather this be a unique adaptation than an adaptation of an adaptation.

[edit] After looking at it more I see that all the previous news does seem to make it clear that this is focused on remaking the movie. Confused
