Probably due to the incident involving Rie Tanaka and the Neptune anime staff that happened a few days ago.

If they think that Mai Kadowaki, who married in that year, have also a dumb crazy "fan" who want to injure or kill her, then it would be better to hire a normal guards than cancel all event.

If they keep cancelling events it will only encourage the perpetrators to do more damage.
