Does anyone know how this new season will fit with the previous one? I can't see how it could just pick up and continue from the way the first season ended. I'm not sure how I feel about Diabolik Lovers. The first season made me cringe because of its rapeyness and the main character's idiotic choices, yet I couldn't stop watching it. I'm a terrible person.

If you recall, spoiler[Yui, at the end, turns to the bishies and tells them that she's "thirsty". I assume this meant that Yui has not recovered completely from her possession, and the after-effect is that she is now a vampire. My guess is that the second season would be Yui coming to terms with her new reality. We also haven't been introduced to the father of the vampy spawn bishie boys, so if anything, I'd think he'd make great villain fodder for season 2.]
You're not a terrible person at all. Many people find these situations appealing in a fantasy environment, even if they find them repulsive if they were to happen in real life. If anything, I'd say you're pretty normal. |

Everyone that watched the 1st season probably thought they were being treated to a somewhat romantic otome anime. Instead they find themselves looking at 6 vampire boys using a girl as their personal blood bag while she lets them do it.

I think DL as a whole is the poster child for a guilty pleasure show; so long as you're aware how utterly horrific it'd be if imitated irl, then you're free to enjoy its twistedness to your heart's content.
I think a lot of people enjoy rape-fantasy setups, and there's nothin' wrong with that. Juuust as long as we don't start using them as relationship models. 
On a tangentially-related note: I really love some of the character designs so I'll be keeping an eye out for screencaps and reviews. Always hilarious to see "how far" it will go. |

All that abuse would have been okay if the series had ended on a revenge fest note, but instead they ended it on a 'corruption' note.

Color me excited. I got all kinds of enjoyment (ironic and otherwise) out of this women's sadist boyfriend porn spectacular, so I can't wait for this second season.
