Nintendo announced during a financial earnings report meeting on Thursday that its Super NES Classic Edition console has sold 5.28 million units worldwide.
Nintendo had announced in February that the system had sold 4 million units worldwide.
The Super NES Classic Edition debuted last September in North America and Europe, and last October in Japan. The system comes with two controllers and 21 pre-loaded games, with the included games slightly different between the Western and Japanese releases.
Nintendo previously released a Classic Edition for its Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in the West and an equivalent Family Computer (Famicom) in Japan in November 2016. Nintendo had shipped over 1.5 million units of the console worldwide as of the end of January 2017.
Nintendo also announced on Thursday that its amiibo sales grew compared to the previous fiscal year. Nintendo sold approximately 10.30 million figures in the fiscal year that ended on March 31.
