MVM to Release Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari on DVD and Blu-ray.

MVM has announced that it will release the Bakemonogatari television anime series, as well as its sequel Nisemonogatari, on both DVD and Blu-ray. The release is planned for "around" September 2013.
The anime series adapts NisiOisin's Bakemonogatari light novels. The short stories in NisiOisin's two volumes of Bakemonogatari deal with a high school boy named Koyomi Araragi and strange students he encounters. ("Bakemonogatari" is a wordplay on the Japanese term bakemono for supernatural creatures and the term monogatari for stories.) The series originally aired in Japan in 2009, followed by Nisemonogatari in 2012.
Akiyuki Shinbo (ef: a tale of melodies., Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, MoonPhase, Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, The SoulTaker) directed the series off scripts supervised by Fuyashi Tou (Zoku Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei). Akio Watanabe (Nurse Witch Komugi, The SoulTaker) adapted VOfan's original character designs for the Shaft animators. Tatsuya Oishi (opening animation director for Mahō Sensei Negima!: Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba, Maria Holic, Pani Poni Dash!) was the series director below Shinbo, while Satoru Kousaki (Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens, Lucky Star, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) composed the music.
