2nd anime adapting Key's Little Busters! video games gets home video release in 2014

North American anime licensing company Sentai Filmworks announced on Tuesday that it has licensed the Little Busters! Refrain television anime series. The company will release the series on home video in 2014. Crunchyroll is currently streaming the series in various countries outside of Japan as it airs.

Director Yoshiki Yamakawa and assistant director Chikara Sakurai are directing the anime at animation studio J.C. Staff from scripts by Michiru Shimada. In addition, Haruko Iizuka is adapting Itaru Hinoue and Na-Ga's original character designs for the anime. The original cast for the first season of Little Busters! are returning to voice their roles, with the exception of Mio, whose original voice actress from the visual novels will be returning to voice her. Suzuyu is performing the opening theme song "Boys be Smile."

The final episode of the original Little Busters! television anime series ended in April with a teaser video for Little Busters! Refrain. "Refrain" is the name of the last scenario that is unlocked when players complete the six heroines' scenarios in Key's original Little Busters! visual novel.

Key, an adult game brand of Visual Art's, released the original romance adventure game for personal computers in 2007, and it has since been ported to the PlayStation 2, PSP, and PS Vita platforms.

Crunchyroll streamed the original Little Busters! television anime series as it aired, and Sentai Filmworks will release the series on both DVD and Blu-ray Disc. An anime adaptation of the Little Busters! EX video game was also green-lit last month.
