Sequel to 2010 film to follow voices of Bakemonogatari's Araragi, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya's Itsuki in Hong Kong

Website Cinema Today reported last week that a second film adaptation of the radio program featuring voice actors Hiroshi Kamiya (Bakemonogatari's Araragi, Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei's Nozomu) and Daisuke Ono (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya's Itsuki, The Legend of the Legendary Heroes's Sion) has been green-lit. Dear Girl ~Stories~ THE MOVIE2 ACE OF ASIA will open in Japanese theaters nationwide on February 15, 2014. The film is being filmed overseas with Hong Kong as the setting. Ono and Kamiya play themselves in the live-action film, which is being filmed in documentary style.

The filming of the new music video of Masochistic Ono Band (MOB for short), the six-piece air band formed by Ono and Kamiya in the first film, is being done in Hong Kong as well. The movie will also show the duo's adventure in Hong Kong through sight-seeing, gourmet, action, and strange occurrences.

A first adaptation of the radio show titled Dear Girl ~stories~ THE MOVIE was first only released in three theaters in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka in 2010, but ended up being screened at 26 theaters across the country. The duo's radio show began airing in 2007.
