Bara manga creator Jiraiya (Sanwa no Karasu, Aogeba Toutoshi, Massive: Gay Erotic Manga and the Men Who Make It) will make his first ever public appearance in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York this month in a series of speaking and signing events.
Jiraiya is scheduled to appear in Los Angeles at the University of Southern California's ONE Archives on March 17, The Secret Headquarters on March 18, and the Tom of Finland Foundation on March 19.
He will then head to San Francisco and appear at California College of the Arts Writers Studio with moderator Justin Hall on March 20 and at Books Inc. Castro on March 21.
Finally, Jiraiya will appear at five events in New York City including the This n' That Bar in Brooklyn on March 24, Printed Matter on March 25, BGSQD at the LGBT Center on March 27, Westside auditorium in the School of Visual Arts on March 28, and at Opening Ceremony on March 28.
The events include signings, Q&A sessions, talk and receptions, and a “Drink and Draw,” live drawing event. Facial photography of Jiraiya is strictly prohibited so that he may maintain his anonymity.
Fantagraphics Books released Massive: Gay Erotic Manga and the Men Who Make It, which includes a comic by Jiraiya, on January 4. The MASSIVE website (possibly NSFW) also published his Caveman Guu and Sanba no Karasu manga.
