posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The official website for the live-action series adaptation of Mayaka Nakano's Bungaku Shojo (Literature Virgin) manga revealed six new cast members and a new poster visual for the show on Wednesday.
The new cast includes (Note: Character name romanizations are not confirmed.):
Rika Izumi as Miki Ariake, a woman who knows Kagaya's past
Masahiko Kawahara as Kō Mishima, Kanoko's boss and editor-in-chief
Taikō Katōno as Masaki Nanase, a member of the proofreading department who has feelings for Mochizuki
Yako Koga as Akari Mishima, Kō's daughter and an aspiring writer
Momoko Tanabe as Amamura Chiyoka, a mysterious, pretty girl
Aoi Morikawa (right in picture below) will play Kanoko Tsukishiro, while Yuu Shirota (left) will play Saku Kagaya.
The romance manga centers on Kanoko Tsukishiro, a novel editor who has never known love and has never been in a relationship. She is assigned as the editor for Kagaya, a novelist who cannot love.
Sumisu (live-action Inside Mari series) is directing the series. Sonar Pocket will perform the series' theme song "Kimi no Namae" (Your Name). Special Favorite Music will perform the series' opening song "Long Hello Goodbye."
The series will premiere on the Dramaism programming block of MBS on September 9 at night at 12:50 a.m. (effectively September 10 morning), and on TBS on September 11 at night at 1:28 a.m. (effectively September 12 morning). It will have eight episodes.
Nakano is serializing the manga on the LINE Manga website, and Nippan IPS published the manga's third compiled book volume last December. (The manga is unrelated to Mizuki Nomura's Book Girl (Bungaku Shōjo) light novel series.)
