Tekkonkinkreet Manga Gets Stage Play in November

Staff revealed on Thursday that Taiyo Matsumoto's Tekkonkinkreet manga series is inspiring a stage play adaptation. The play will run at The Galaxy Theatre in Tokyo from November 18-25.
Nogizaka46 idol group member Yumi Wakatsuki is playing Black, and model and singer Natsume Mito is playing White. Nelke Planning is streaming comment videos from both actors in costume on its YouTube channel.

Fumiya Matsuzaki (Gundam 00, Children of the Whales, A3! stage plays) is directing the play, and Masafumi Hata (Mahō Sensei Negima!, Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Gaiden stage plays) is writing the script.
Matsumoto serialized the manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine from 1993 to 1994. The series received an anime film adaptation in 2006. Viz Media published the manga in North America, and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released the film.
