NEWS: Funimation Reveals Aquarion Logos Anime's English Dub Cast

Never saw Aquarion Evol so I don't know if any of these Aquarion Logos characters are connected but if not IMO it's lazy to reuse some of these people who already voiced characters in the Evol dub... Confused

Also got a typo (but I blame whoever submitted it to the encyclopedia)

Ranko Uminagi not Umanagi

I mean the official site spells out the last name for you... Rolling Eyes

On that note Chris Bevins confirmed Karan Uminagi is voiced by Carrie Savage

Haven't seen any of the Aquarion shows but from what I understand, many of the characters throughout each series are connected to one another and some are even reincarnations of previous series characters. So the dub casting is accounting for this in a way.

Though there's a definite lack of Carrie Savage in this list.

Well. That makes a complete reshuffle then.

To be fair, there's a reason for reusing the same actors for series that differ from each other over spans of eons of times.

As I understand it, Logos is a completely separate entity in the Aquarion franchise, much as Gundam SEED has no bearing or relation to Gundam's Universal Century shows.

I've been saying this for years now but Bevins' dubs would be far more compelling if he was more diverse in the casting department. I wish he would branch out and go for more unexpected and maybe even exciting out of the box casting choices occasionally. Bevins is a solid ADR Director but the predictability of his casting over the years holds him back.

well give this 3rd take of this aquarion series saw 1st series (yet to do version 2) yet notice cast list of dub case of before & after give 3rd take compare voice line-up from past roles of previous series.

like it a scramble with fresh take reboot on each series if you connect names of voice people to each series.

I've been working in this industry for about 25 years or so. (I'm obviously not an expert or anything of the sort)! On a serious note, directors cast based on reliability. If they perceive a VA to be consistently solid, they'll choose them over "newbies". Of course, all VAs start off as noobs, but determining if one has talent or not is rather easy. You can tell right away. Brian Beacock has been voice acting for nearly 20 years, but he doesn't get many roles as he's not really that reliable of a VA. He's not someone who can turn out solid performances, so his casting is sporadic.

On the other hand, somebody like Monica Rial is different. She's in a class of all her own. She's the 3rd/4th most used VA in all of anime (including Japan) for a reason. She does her job well. Now, popularity=/=good, per say, but there's a reason for "safe choices". I thought you knew this, Vast. Smile

People are entitled to their opinions NearEasternerJ1 without you being unduly rude and condescending to them. Or trying to peacock and stroke your own ego. You've been warned about this enough times and were told if you kept it up you would be placed back on moderation. If it happens again that's exactly what will happen.

As already mentioned, Logos is not a continuation of the previous 2 Aquarion shows. While Aquarion isn't exactly known for compelling story plots, they at least had something decent to them, but Logos takes it to a whole new level of god-forsakenly awful and if you add bland MCs, bland antagonists, bland action scenes, bland art and bland music (Didn't even use any of Akino's songs until the last episode and made Yoko kanno produce some pretty bland music compared to what she had made during Genesis and Evol - That can't be forgiven) then it is just horrid. Why on earth anyone would want to bring such a horrid show to more people is beyond me.

actually Logos is indeed a sequel. it took place over 2000 years after the events of Evol.

actually Logos is indeed a sequel. it took place over 2000 years after the events of Evol.


I have absolutely no idea where you got that rubbish from, but it isn't a sequel. It is set in a completely different world with completely different characters.

uh it was back when ANN had the features for the newest anime series over there and logos was included and said it took place many years after evol. i cant remember the years though. its either 2000 or its 10,000 years. not sure.

Having watched Genesis, Evol and Logos, I can tell you that Logos IS NOT a sequel to Evol. it is a completely different story set in a different world with different characters, the only 2 things linking Logos to Genesis and Evol is the name Aquarion and how the Mecha is formed (even then slightly different in Logos to Evol and Genesis).
