Retcon, what was retconned? OT: I found the show's animation issues to be too much for me to finish the episode. Combined with them changing a bit of the script from the LNs, i found this to be off Regardless, the show has it's good points but i do hope they deal with their story and animation issues. |

I feel like doing the Picard facepalm at this point. Seriously, i know that the story was changed in a major way in Born but this seems like a roundabout way to make it go back to the LN |

Light Novel readers who didn't know about this until later felt like they were really trolled by Ishibumi. On the other hand readers who prefer to read LNs the legal way wont understand any of it unless they decide to look it up online since D X D LNs were never licensed in the west. Its a crazy move by Ishibumi but in a way its also a good one cos it garners interest in the EX side story |

Holy moly this was bad. Like, DxD in general was never a 'good' show but even by those standards this season was just awful. Didn't surprise me when I found out later on that the entire 2nd half was non canon. The show just seems so directionless. The first half is an already not that great series starting to get stale. Very bland and unremarkable but not particularly terrible. The second half on the other hand? Complete trainwreck. Which is weird because as much as I don't like DxD 'train wreck' is never a term I'd have used to describe the series. I haven't even read the LN but upon finding out the second half was non canon there were moments I couldn't help but think 'Oh God, this is gonna take ages to retcon'.
On top of that the dub just wasn't as good as before. Not because of Josh Grelle (I think he's actually better as Issei than... you know who). It's just that the acting just felt really half assed at times even when the script was really funny (Dildora Ass to mouth made me laugh so much I had to pause the video). Can't really blame them though. It's just a bit annoying because the script is really loose and funny during the comedy but stiff and lifeless during the serious scenes. What else is there to say? Oh yeah, the animation was awful. Worse than both seasons before it somehow. I think that's pretty much all I have to say. |

I'd say they just reboot the whole anime and give it to a better studio. |

I hope so. I've been hoping to see an announcement for season 4 for a while now. DxD is funny af and the plot (I really mean plot when I say this lol) isn't too bad either. |

No, they will not, nor they need to do it. That non-canon 2nd half is now canon in the DX side-story spin-off, by Ichibumi himself. https://www.reddit.com/r/HighschoolDxD/comments/3eh08c/dxd_dx_has_retconned_born_to_match_it_with_the/ And even without this, they just can retcon everything and continue with the novel content. The purists are always so mean, they want a rebbot of everything that is unfaithful, as if every source material has AAA writing(Big Order, Black Cat) |

It's not that it's unfaithful, it's that while the LN is a "battle shounen with romcom stuff" the anime is "Romcom stuff with a bit of battle shounen". |

I think that it's very clearly her, but then again, I tend to pay a lot of attention to the voices and can usually pick out who's who. So, maybe it would be less obvious to some folks. And I thought that she did quite a good job all things considered, and she managed to sound much more like Teri Rogers than I would have expected anyone to, but I would have preferred for them to have been able to get Teri back.
LOL. I thought that the funniest bit in that regard was the "Pound that pussy!" line in reference to Koneko's sister.
Well, if nothing else, that implies that Ichibumi wants there to be another season, since I don't know why else he'd bother with that. And maybe they can turn that side story into an OVA.

It would take much more than a mere OVA as the DX side story takes up an entire volume. Probably worth about 3 episodes as long as they dont rush it assuming they bother to animate it in the first place |

There are plenty of OVAs that are a few episodes long. So, I wouldn't think that that would be a problem. It's really just a question of whether they'll bother to do it. |
