As a deaf person, I hate Shout! Factory because they released so many classic cartoons without any subtitles at all. (only if there's the law that prohibits any company from releasing any form of medias without english subtitles...)

In this case, japanese audio = english subtitles = win for me.

I think after the remaining 3 films have been released, Shout! Factory would want to pick those up as well. With enough fan urging, maybe we could get Michael Reisz and Lara Jill Miller to return as their respective roles, depending on their availability.

I had expected something on this some time ago, it's taken longer to get a North American license done than you would think with a property like Digimon.

They've probably just waited until now due to how spread out the releases of each movie have been - especially considering each movie ends on a cliffhanger leading into the next movie.

Sweetness! Day 1 pre-order for me! I actually haven't seen any of the films so far (just some digivolutions online) so I am excited for these to come out! Hopefully they will get the other films as they can (and they will also get dubbed, hopefully)

Yes!! Finally! And it's the sub AND dub, so it's a definite buy for me! The original Japanese is great, but I admit my nostalgia for this particular dub had me enjoying the English version more, even with a few of my favorite voices missing (most of the new ones did a fantastic job, though). I might have bought them regardless as I like the 1st and 3rd ones so much, but this is such great news! Anime smile

If Saban were involved, it would have happened much faster. Saban, which licensed Digimon way back when, has a good relationship with Shout.

But anyway, I am really looking forward to these.

Not sure how I feel about this. They better at least have subtitles or closed caption for the dub track and not just the Japanese track for hard of hearing fans. I dont want to hear "Izzy"and then read Koushiro....

I'd hope so.

Thing to remember, for a while Toei Animation had both the Japanese Digimon Adventure and Saban's version up on Netflix US as separate shows, so they may be at least concerned about fans wanting to keep that chocolate out of their peanut butter.

WE FINALLY GET SUBBED DIGIMON!!!! I honestly at this point do NOT care if they are even dubtitles!! Since Shout has partnered with Toei, I sure hope this makes for hope on the rest of the franchise getting subbed video releases as well!

Considering there is already a dub made for the first movie, no, I really hope they don't start switching out VAs in the middle of the run. While it would have bee really cool to have them back at the start of the run it is so not cool to suddenly just switch the VAs part way through. It is disrespectful to the VAs that stepped up to fill those roles and to the fans. They made their choice.
