From what I’ve seen of screenshots of the book online, I saw that Seven Seas put a “Now a hit series on Anime Strike.” I hope they fixed that Laughing
Edit: This is the best picture I could find.

I wasn’t planning on buying this manga (Originally only buying the Blu-ray a of the anime version), but after reading this review and Rebecca recommending the manga even after watching the anime version, I think I will splurge on this series. It’s certainly a very engaging and dark series to watch and read about, so hopefully, the author can continue the story in the same manner.

Current chapter count at 44..Simply amazing that chapter 44 was released about a month after chapter 43 lol

Only thing that could stop this train now is Splatoon 4 or a random shiny object catches the author's eye(long time readers will understand).

Seven Seas said it was going to be removed after the first print run. One day that original print is going to become a collector's item. Laughing

^I'm not even a reader and I understand because this frustration has been expressed by so many people to the point that I'm also biting my nails nervously waiting for him to get to writing a conclusion.

I think I'll pick this up. I rarely buy manga as they are released because I'm too damn OCD about having incomplete series, but I might make an exception for this one. I just love the show so much it's something that I want to support as much as possible. And I'm very curious to see how much certain elements were toned down for the TV series.

Where exactly did you hear this? I've heard no such thing.

Thanks for the link. If that’s the case, then I’ll guess I will wait until the second printing comes because I don’t want Anime Strike to be on the manga’s cover. I do wonder though how much time will pass until that happens.

It may be a while, our local BAM had about 10 of these with "Anime Strike" on the back cover. It may sell out fast, Seven Seas titles usually do here in Kissimmee, but sometimes they don't. Note : I'm still on the fence about this and skipped it in favor of getting the 3rd volume of Girl's Last Tour.

Wait, it’s already in stores? I thought it doesn’t come out till Tuesday?

Edit: Just checked my local BAM and they didn’t have it yet...

Oh, I see. Then again, I don't use Twitter, so I guess it's no wonder I missed it. I'm sure the manga will be a hit here, since people love the anime.

Speaking of, I've been hearing rumors off and on that the mangaka is supposedly a lolicon, or even a pedophile. I've seen absolutely nothing confirming this, but someone in a comment section of this article: https://steemit.com/anime/@medicinemerchant/should-you-really-watch-made-in-abyss, claimed so. Of course, I refuse to believe anything unless I see solid proof.

This happens, for some reason our local BAM gets the Tuesday manga releases on their supply truck from BAM's warehouse on Friday. So, if the staff has time the truck will be unloaded and the books shelved by Saturday. It doesn't always happen, but it did this past weekend.

Wow, I’ve never seen such a narrow-minded review of anything before this one. The guy is so way off the mark, it’s actually funny and concerning at the same time. I don’t know how you came across this, but it would be best to not take any of the guy seriously going forward if he’s like this towards everything. If Made in Abyss is not worth somebody’s time in any shape or form, no anime is or will ever be.

It sounds to me like they mean book two and so forth. But I do assume a second print run as well when it does happen.

I won't spoil anything from the manga but I can tell you that the anime adaptation did a great job of toning those certain elements down the right way without making the censoring easily palpable like Tokyo Ghoul or JoJo's Bizarre Adventure does. When you do get the opportunity to read the manga, I hope you'll see what I mean.

People seem to get the terms pedophile and lolicon mixed up as if they're interchangeable which is not true. Both terms are similar in the sense of having sexual attraction towards children, but there is a clear distinction to be made here: a pedophile is someone who is sexually attracted to real-life children (including boys and girls),and a lolicon is someone who is sexually attracted to anime or manga lolis that don't resemble real-life children due to their anime-style visual character design. They also seem to have tremendous difficulty in mastering the art of separating the art from the artist even if their work doesn't directly reflect themselves in any shape or form.

If you've been only watching the anime adaptation, you obviously won't be seeing signs of either because Director Masayuki Kojima and his team at Kinema Kitrus have cut out the author's fetishistic tendencies from the manga while keeping everything else important intact with careful precision. This is the exact reason why I consider the anime superior over the manga. Although I will avoid making wild accusations towards the author of being a pedophile or lolicon as I don't have solid proof either, I can confidently say as a manga reader that the manga gives a platform for the author to inject his fetishistic tendencies as it's clearly made apparent whether you want to admit it or not.
