So one's silence can be brought.
While he did apologize for his actions the charges for what he did still should have still been pressed against him.

Why exactly? If she was happy with an apology and potentially some form of monetary compensation as justice for his acts, it should just be left at that. I don't really know how the Japanese court system works, but assuming it is at all similar to how it works here, what you're asking for is to force a high school girl to get up in front of a room of people and be grilled by a defense lawyer who would pretty much have to challenge her lack of consent. She should absolutely have a say in the matter, and if she doesn't want it to proceed, then I don't see a reason the prosecutors should compel her to.

Is that really all though?

Where I live, rape victims literally get threatened to accept "compensation" otherwise the guy's goons will constantly harass the family and the girl for the foreseeable future. Either she accepts the money or they even go as far as to kill her family, attack her school/workplace etc.

So, I'm not saying this is definitely what happened but with all this disturbing stuff happening in my country, I'm just saying "maybe".

The guy is a celebrity not come crime syndicate boss, violent crime is exceptionally low in Japan, and we're not talking rape. Getting online harassment from extremist fans seems quite possible though.

That said, ok lets say what you said is accurate, you'd force her to testify against her will putting herself, her family, her school, and her work in danger for what is probably even on the very hard end only a couple year sentence? Or what, give her witness protection forcing her to give up the entire life she has now? You don't think she deserves a say in the matter?

If she wants to press charges, the prosecutors should absolutely proceed forward. However, she shouldn't be forced to.

No, I wouldn’t force her at all. It’s all if she wants to. Where did you get that impression from what I said? All I said was that she might be getting threatened, emphasis on might/maybe. It’s because she does have a say in the matter. No one knows what really happened except the people involved but this is a forum and we’re free to express our thoughts.

The man assaulted a minor in a sexual way. That is a gross violation in my book.People who do things like that need to be taught a lesson that actions like that are unacceptable in our society.
I due admit that is a good thing that he admitted he was wrong and he apologized for his actions.
In some cases the person who put onto the witness stand can be questioned not in the courtroom and/or done by a pre recorded session.Person who was violated idenity can be hidden also.
