It sounds like the Funimation brand is being phased out?

I’ll cancel my Funimation sub once CR have added older titles like AssClass.

I hope Crunchyroll learns to stop treating dubs as new seasons. It’s a pain to navigate

Good now rework the Crunchyroll app and hire a dub supervisor for my country like Netflix did

Looks like they really are phasing out Funimation as a brand. Huh.

I hope consolidation into a single streaming site doesn’t result in anyone losing their jobs. I also hope it means there can be more focus on improving Crunchyroll’s site - for example, by not having to represent different releases of a show as different “seasons” (as with Ranking of Kings), and by giving different seasons and language options their own URLs so we can share links to a specific season and language.

Hopefully this means no more shows not having subtitles for several days on the Roku and other players. Concentrating the budget on just one service may help. I'm trying to look on the bright side here.

My Funy account charges about the 19th, so I guess I'll wait two weeks to cancel. I don't need the que or history for much.

On the Crunchy side, does anyone using the Crunchy beta have anything good to say about it? I've been putting off trying it until I hear more about what it is like.

Wow. Funi literally just charged me for a 1-year renewal 12 days ago. And now they say there will be no new titles on Funimation going forward, just finishing off the existing series?

Talk about bad timing, and double-dipping... They say I'll get 60 days CR free, but I would have rather gotten that with only a few months remaining on my subscription, rather than 12 Rolling Eyes

I am sure CR knows they have plenty of room for improvement when it comes to user interface/experience. But I am not so sure if they are incentivized to continually improve as they sell shows not their platforms as their primary attraction.

I have yearly subscriptions to Funi and VRV (lol me), and if I'm reading this right, all I get for compensation is 60 free days of Crunchy? That seems... more than a bit unfair.

I'm more than happy to trade Funi's video player for Crunchyroll though. Funi's quality is so bad, I was about ready to go back to watching everything on phyiscal disc again.

Funi's twitter is telling people in the same situation as you to contact funi support as soon as you can to get that resolved

Sigh...they really need to fix the Crunchyroll app on Apple TV. It logs you out of the service like once a week, so you have to constantly re-log in. I also just renewed my Funimation subscription like a week ago for a year...

Edit: Just noticed that my Funimation subscription actually renews on March 5th, so I just barely made it without the renewal! That like perfect timing. My only issue now is that I had the preferred pricing model on Funimation, which was only $60 a year. I assume that's just gone now with the move to Crunchyroll...

Where is the link that states this? I'm unable to find it.

I hope this doesn't mean that new shows will now be stuck streaming in their simulcast versions forever. Updating to Blu-ray materials was something I did like on Funimation.

Hey now.. Converting everything to Crunchyroll and drop it down from 2 service Subcriptions to 1.. I be more than happy for that.. Funimation is still in the background but I am glad they going to merge everything together and make it a one stop shopping place for anime watching.

Actually I kind of like it where they have the Languages separated.. Makes it easier for me to manage where the DUBs are in the series where with the Funi app.. they always seems to get mixed up and I accidently drop into a episode that's NOT dubbed yet.
