Some of the sample listed prices seem to be anywhere from 25% to 33% less. Not too bad. |

Either it's a typo, or the Indian catalog isn't large enough to warrant a larger fee. |

The CR catalog of anime available in India isn't worth the $10. Besides SEA has its own distributors and licensers (Muse communications and Media Link). Fans there don't & won't exactly need CR. |

It cost like 2.5 bucks in Indonesia now but the problem is that wasn't CR still locking their anime for some SEA region?
It's the reason why most SEA people doesn't give a hell to Crunchy Roll. Bilibili offer a cheaper price (10 bucks more cheaper yearly) and their catalogue is way bigger than CR. |

Not only that, but you're actually being charged in your local currency (finally!), at least where do I live. Knowing how bad the Hungarian Forint is right know, it's a godsend.

Pretty steep price drop for my region, from 5 USDs to more or less 3 USDs, or 15 bucks in our currency.
I think that the thing that makes most sense in it is taking it to our own currency... the problem with it being 5 bucks is that our currency has devalued a ton over the years, and it has always been unstable and fluctuating too much... so putting a price in our own currency makes it more constant, which will incentivize more people to subscribe to it. Steam also got way more people to buy games here when they started setting prices to our currency instead of USDs. |

To some extent: Denmark keep their currency, but it's not included, Lithuania uses the euro, Croatia will do it in January, 2023, Andorra DO use euros, but it is not in the EU. And France's overseas territories also uses the euro and, technically, they are EU territory. San Marino and Lietchestein are not affected, probably due to technical reasons. Maybe I should change my tax residence to Andorra, like some Spanish Youtubers… |

The problem is that AAA publishers start avoiding regional pricing which directly affects player behavior to buy indie/A most of the time. As someone who got affected by it, I simply wait for years or just sail seven seas which is rare considering I have way too many backlogs. |

Crunchyroll and Aniplex are both owned by Sony, so maybe CR's going to start getting all the Aniplex anime in Asia? Which is a lot. Aniplex produces most of the most popular anime. |

Hopefully the regional catalog disparities will discourage subscribers in places like the US from spoofing their location to game the system, and subsequently whining about CR being "anti-consumer" when they take steps to prevent that. That's what we saw with Steam when they introduced discounts based on regional and national income levels.
