I started watching this because of CLAMP doing the character designs, now I guess I'm here for the long haul. I'm not even a Vanguard fan and have no idea how to play the game but it's been a bit of fun watching (barring season 1)

Wow, just.. wow. The show and the cards must be highly successful to recieve a 3 year commitment. That's something rarely seen, not even on popular live action TV shows. I'm very glad, especially because haters have spent all these past years insisting that the show was a failure.

I'm not so sure I'll keep watching it until the end, though. I'm not into cards, but the first season was very fun and enjoyable, the cast was loveable and their slice of life antics were entertaining even for people like me who didn't dig the card aspects of the show. It was very well balanced back then, but since season 2 they have increased the card aspects way too much. Season 3 was cards, cards, cards and pretty much nothing else. This isn't what I signed up for. If they continue with this dynamic, I'll probably drop the show sooner or later. I like the characters, but the cards are too much for people like me who came for the characters' interactions and slice of life stuff.

Here's hoping they continue to improve upon showing more of the matches. In S3, they're a lot better than they were in S1/2, but they're still pretty basic and lacking comparative to the rest of the franchise. I'd like to see them show off more of the units and deck synergies like they used to, helped get me excited for actually owning the cards and haven't picked up a booster box since D-series started because of that.

I've only seen the first few anime series but play the game pretty often. I've been thinking of diving back into the anime.
