Trailer spoiled the entire movie.

I like how it's the character models they've used for the last couple films and then also just...Jill from the RE3 remake....? Confused

I would love to get a conclusion to the fallout between Leon and Claire that happened in the ending of Infinite Darkness. I can't imagine she still likes the guy after what he did, would be interesting to see their interactions.

The lack of any changes to Jill's look leads me to believe they are gonna also keep her Sarah Connor wannabe character from RE3R. Very disappointing.

They’ve said the virus she was injected with in 5 slowed down her aging. Honestly smart, seems like Capcom is realizing having the game’s years match the real world’s years isn’t smart if you want to keep your OG protagonists around. They could honestly say the same is happening with Leon and Claire, as they were also temporarily infected in 4 and Revelations 2 respectively.

Its a follow up to Degeneration/Damnation/Vendetta, not Infinite Darkness.

The continuity's wack between the remakes having ID and what not.

I had actually completely forgotten about that in 5; I was referring more to how they seem to just be using her assets from RE3R.

Yeah, that is weird. I don't have a problem with them using those models to maintain some consistency between games and movies, or sticking with the movie models to keep it consistent from one to the next. Using both makes it like an anime where one character is always drawn off model.

The post-RE7 games remain wacky B movies but their brooding and nihilistic tone is well received and works better than anything else before it yet the anime and even that Netflix live-action "adaptation" are still pursuing the insanity that befell the IP when it let go of fixed cameras. I wonder if someone at Capcom will one day get the memo that what revived the games is cinematic AF and would carry over very well. Capcom switched over to American game writers with the new games for all that don´t know.

Vendetta was the good kind of bad despite the most questionable anime script by far and here we are for round 2. Even I didn´t expect this much played straight insanity. Respect? The T-Rex fly-man Illuminati leader from RE6 remains unbeaten of course. That game was on crack.

Edit: I saw Fast Furious comparisons. Were RE5&6 ahead of the Hollywood curve with the ramblings on "partners"? Hm.

For me it's more they're using her remake design. Seems out of place compared to everyone else who uses designs more like their original canon appearances. And I always will prefer Julia Voth Jill forever.

It's almost kind of amazing that this movie is bringing together all the protagonists for the first time. Also the Redfield siblings on-screen together for the first time since Code Veronica. I guess no wonder it's a full action blockbuster.

Voice and design continuity is a little all over the place though.

Eh, it looks like it fits to me. I prefer Remake 3 Jill’s design myself. Regardless, either version of 3’s Jill is better than the design she had in Revelations 1 and especially 5.

Spoiler for Infinite Darkness:
spoiler[
Leon and Claire get their hands on evidence incriminating a politician with virus shenanigans. Leon refuses to expose him for some reason, Claire gets upset with him over this and they part ways. That politician also just escapes and nothing happens to him lol
