I'm surprised and happy to see that "The Distant Blue Sky" is being dubbed as well. It seemed like they were going to skip it, but fortunately that's not the case.

The significance of the date being September 8 is because it was September 8, 1998 where the first dubbed episode of Pokemon debuted in syndication in America. So it will be an exact 25 year journey.

Outside of a few banned episodes, they have dubbed the entirety of the 1000+ Pokemon anime, why would they not dub the final ever Ash cour? Seems stupid if that was the case. This isnt 4kids anymore thankfully

^ they skipped a lot of the special episodes that air at the end of a region. Like Brock, Dawn, Cilan, Iris, and Clemonts epilogue episodes. It's not unreasonable to be worried about this one especially since they skipped it in the Canadian airing.

"Distant Blue Sky" is a special episode that was released after Journey's ended and before the start of Ash's 11 episode finale. When Journeys ended in Canada they skipped "Distant Blue Sky" and went straight to Ash's final cour. Considering they made no mention of it, the fact that it's a special episode (not connected to Journeys), and its subject matter, I figured they might have skipped it.
