It's kind of funny but Miyuki Sawashiro is also in the movie but won't be reprising Fujiko. Unless she also gets a cameo.

I guess we're now seeing the other side of the Lupin vs Cat's Eye deal.

Tama & Friends though, wonder what led to this?

I really hope the new City Hunter movie gets a dub. Cassandra Lee Morris would be perfect as Tama if he ever speaks during his cameo.

Well Anime Limited has commissioned dubs before (009 Re:Cyborg, Your Name) so that should be fine. The only question is thanks to Lupin vs. Cat's Eye, we have two dub casts for the latter now so who will be reprising for this?

Interesting question. But to go back to the subject of Tama and Friends, don't you think it's a bit disappointing that Crunchyroll didn't dub the original show when they acquired the rights to stream it 3 years ago?

Probably Aniplex's decision since they own the rights of the anime.

Or if Angie is Fujiko working some sort of angle in disguise, and they're just trying to avoid spoiling the surprise.

It's one of their earliest licenses before the Aniplex name even came to fruition. At the time (1989 if I remember correctly) they were known as Sony Music Home Entertainment Japan.

Sony Music Entertainment Japan is still around, Aniplex is a subsidiary of that, originally started up in 1995 as SPE Visual Works, then as SME Visual Works years later then as Aniplex shortly after that.

in 1989, Sony Music Entertainment Japan was known as CBS Sony Group and that name lasted until 1991.

I knew that. Anime hyper Anyway, I can't believe how old Tama and Friends is now as a franchise. And again, I really do hope that Aniplex and Bang Zoom! re-dub the original anime someday, I could see a great cast lined up. My personal hope is that (like I said last time) Cassandra Lee Morris is cast as Tama. Other roles I see include Christine Marie Cabanos (Madoka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica) as Momo, Brian Beacock (Monokuma from Danganronpa) as Pochi, and Cristina Vee as Tora just to name a few.

On that note, I want to watch the new CH movie when it premieres on CR.

Right, because Sunrise is the licensor internationally, that's how Discotek got everything else including the last film.
