Anime to stream worldwide on X/Twitter in real time with TV airing in Japan starting in April

That's interesting. I wonder why they decided to do this.

I was thinking that might be the case but paying for Kaiju No. 8? I know it's kinda popular but knowing Musk you'd think he'd try to aim for something even more popular (and then lose a ton of money in the process).

Regardless of who made the decision, Twitter is basically the worst platform I can imagine for watching full-length anime on. I'll be sticking with Crunchyroll.

I should've seen Fairouz Ai as Kikoru coming.

All the same, Naruto-esque designs aside, it looks pretty good!

They’re really assuming this will be the next big thing, but the manga is already falling off…

I suppose it it doesn't need a subscription then there's technically kinda some feasible use in it? I can't think of any social media I'd actively want to watch a TV show on though.

I have a feeling the Twitter stream will have no subs/dubs, and may be live only. So local distributors like Crunchyroll are still necessary for most international audiences.

I would assume that would be the case. I've noticed series like Shangri La Frontier have official streams on TikTok but it's Japanese audio only with no subs.
