I don't get it. What do they mean by "streaming series"? What's the difference between it and ONA anyway?

Yes this appellation is a bit disturbing, i think they just couldn't named it ONA because the first season was not originally a net animation as it aired on TV sooner ( just a few hours compared to the JP Netflix if i remember correctly ) first but this time it might be on Netflix first in the eventuality they even air it on TV.

They will work it probably like they did with Stone Ocean. First in Netflix and then in Japan. Hopefully they wont fudge up the episode drops liek they did with Stone Ocean.

Nice! I haven't read much from the manga, so I'm looking forward to see where the story goes.

ONA is an English term and not used in Japan. There's not really a fixed term for it, Wikipedia uses "web anime" (Webアニメ) but "streaming series" (配信シリーズ) that is used in the announcement is basically equivalent. The article just decided to use the more literal translation instead of the more technical ONA term (which is not used widely either, you'll never see Netflix call their original anime ONA, for example).

It just basically means they will produce the new sequel as a streaming exclusive title that would be available on the streaming platform(Netflix) to consume and not aired on TV.

I have no idea why they have to use that term instead of just saying as such.

Strange timing. I was thinking of going to the shops today, to buy the last 3 volumes. I read it up until volume 20, but didn't get the rest when they came out.

Great news. Here's hoping they'll keep the same staff that did the first season, now that Yuichiro Hayashi is finally done with Attack on Titan.
