I've mostly enjoyed the series up to this point. The only thing I didn't like was near the halfway mark of the show, during the wilderness survival episode, when we're treated to the "Oh look! Everybody's GAY!" syndrome. Confused Completely useless and stupid, and adds nothing to the plot. At least in My-Hime, spoiler[Shizuru being lesbian was an important plot point.]

Other than that, it's a very fun series, but not quite as good as My-Hime.

The English script does not vary a lot through this span, although it strains to deal with the “don't call me Nina anymore, I'm not a kid” issue in episode 20.

I'm not sure if my eyes were playing tricks on me but I believe there is a scene on this DVD where Sergay refers to her as Neena! Please keep your eyes open if you are watching the subs to confirm that this wasn't my imagination.

I actually think this OP is the best of the Hime/Otome's so far, but I'm not a fan of the others. Something about it feels like a Sunrise OP in it's flashiness.

I'm really surprised at how different Midori is compared to her My-Hime incarnation although her voice (GA's Ranpha) still is one that is very distinct. She probably still remains my favorite character (along with MIYU) in the ensemble.

Overall I still consider My-Otome a bit of a disappointment and agree that the first half of the series was fairly directionless. The other weakness that this series suffers from is that My-Hime had the finite number of Hime's that reminded me of such series like X or Fushigi Yugi. It was fun trying to guess who all the Hime were in the first volumes of My-Hime. My-Hime's premise was also established early on (and re-established mid series) which helped the plot progress towards an inevitable conclusion. My-Otome feels more like it's just wandering around in comparison.
