Even though I haven't finished the first novel yet, I'm very happy with what I've read so far. The main characters and their relationship DOES touch a little on the "cliche" side... but the characters do seem to have a few more layers than I expected from them, so I am getting to really like them. It's much better than what I've read of Accel World (written by the same author).
