I saw the index movie in theatres. It was about what you'd expect from an Index movie. Fan service scenes with showers involving Misaka/Kuroko/Index. The plot was all original with a few new characters whose roles are for the movie only. Pretty much every character gets at least a little screen time. Most of the time it focuses on Kamijo, Index, and the new characters. The main new character is Arisa an aspiring musician who performs live on the streets. She's a level 0 who is rumored to have 'miracle' inducing music. So obviously she's constantly chased down by every underground organization imaginable (Index can relate) and obviously Kamijo is going to save her, many times (Index can relate) and he's also going to end up buying her lots of food (Index can relate). And there's also a space elevator, constructed by a super multinational conglomerate run by a goth-loli, because why not?

I would recommend the Certain Magical Index movie for those who are fans of Index and Railgun. However, if you have not been following this franchise you could get lost between the many characters and powers that are utilized in the movie. But a solid B for fans.

I watched Chunibyo dubbed. Great show. As for the dub, I thought it was decent. On par with other anime of its type that ADV & Sentai have released(Air, Kanon, Ef, Clannad, Angel Beats). Nothing jaw dropping but not terrible either, it gets the job done.

I strongly disagree with this notion. This show was offered at TRSi for under $80. That is a fair price for a one cour, BD release with a dub.

I am assuming Sentai will do a standard-priced release in a few months.

Okamikakushi: Masque of the Wolf is so bad, why does stuff like that get released over here at all. Who watches or especially buys those type of shows
I think I've sent my shelves like 3 times and never got featured, doubt the servers keep 'eating them' so many times.

What name did you send them under? Unfortunately these emails come in waves, and sometimes get buried.

Ambimunch--
Okamikakushi: Masque of the Wolf couldn't have been too bad, since you acknowledge watching it.

Oh god...Okami Kakushi. I forgot I attempted this and didn't finish it Not ever going to. I was also very let down being a Higurashi, Umineko and Gun Rose Days fan. No idea what the hell went on here. I think he was busy time already writing for Umineko or maybe even Lucia's Rewrite route at the time so I bet this was on the back burner.

All this hate for Okami Kakushi is puzzling. It isn't quite as good as Higurashi's first season but it's still alright if judged on its own merits. If Okami Kakushi wasn't a Ryukishi07 story then people would have passed it off as a generic but otherwise harmless Higurashi clone. It wouldn't have gotten anywhere near this level of hostility, that's for sure. And besides, to those people who want to throw stones, bear in mind that Okami Kakushi it's a damn sight better than Higurashi's second season which starts off weak and descends into pretty much a full-on trainwreck. "Generic but okay" is far more preferable than "memorable but awful".

The Index film comes after season 2 of Index I presume? I'm waiting to grab that series when the full series is released in one as opposed to two parts, so may have to wait a while to see this if so. And it depends how it fits into the chronology with Railgun too I guess. What a complicated series timeline!
I'd gladly send in pictures of my shelves, if only my stuff wasn't still in storage for a seemingly endless series of moves. Oh well hopefully somebody else sends some nice shelves in.

I have always wrote the anime of okamikakushi off as a circle of death that was to a large extent beyond ryukishis control.
First off it was his first work that he actually was paid by someone else to write and was subject to being forced to follow their ideas. I can guess a lot of their ideas involved do it like higurashi, as evidence look at the lackluster peachpit designs.
Second the director for this show is HORRIBLE I ended up making up a game of count the directing mistakes while I was watching it for the first time. Also they are behind the heinous starry sky anime. there are actually a lot of stuff here that you could tell was just executed horribly
Third Yay Ryukishi messed up flat out with the characterization, I would not go as far as to say what the reviewer does but it is to a large extent true. They should have had the MC be more proactive and during the scene in episode 6 is when they should have had him realize what is going on just like people watching at home who were actually trying to figure it out would have realized. I also think it is just at that awkward point for him were it is to long for him to do a condensed horrifying story like he does many times in higabana and not long enough for him to do a good job at telling the story, If you look at rose guns days you notice the story arcs never follow the structure of the release and that he is taking his time expanding everything he wants before hiting the nuke button which I think he just wasn't able to do in okamikakushi.

Coincidentally, Brittney Karbowski is in all these shows you quoted.

I enjoyed greatly from the movie Toaru Majutsu no Index: Endyumion no Kiseki, and indeed one of its strong points is that it incorporates quite nicely into the setting of both Index and Railgun that it feels almost like a 3-parter conjoined into a single, long episode.
But its downside it that it fitting quite nicely into the setting of both Index and Railgun, so basically it comes with a big "don't see" recommendation for newcomers, and having to "do homework" (watching at the very least half of season 1 from both Index and Railgun) in order to enjoy, or understand a movie (or any piece of media for that matter) can dishearten potential fans.

I really want to see L, C & O D but I'm not into collector's editions. I'll wait until the standard edition is release.

The premium feel of the Chunibyo Limited Edition was surprising compared to Sentai's usual extremely barebones releases that feel more like someone could've burned it themselves and put it on eBay. As a collector's edition, I'd say it's on the level of Funi's Exclusive Attack on Titan CE, and surpasses most of the releases by NISA and AoA. As mentioned, the box is huge, but it allows for the storage of the large number of cards and trinkets. It has a flashy holo/foil finish (the rainbow-colored background) that doesn't show up in the pictures. Sentai definitely didn't pull any punches on this one. I wouldn't mind if they put in just a little more effort with their normal releases, though.
I find the multiple contributors under the new Shelf Life format a bit chaotic. As was mentioned, we were pretty familiar with the preferences and perspectives of the single reviewers in the past, so there'd be at least a consistent angle even when the titles spanned multiple genres. Splitting the reviews to separate reviewers sort of loses the point of it being a collected "column", and I don't see the advantage compared to standalone reviews.
