I wonder how "straight" an adaptation the anime is going to be because the manga really is mostly characters "talking shop", about as much of a "talking shop" manga as I have ever read?

In this case, the title is pretty much what it says on the tin; it really is about candy and a candy store rather than just a slice-of-life comedy with candy store stuff happening in the background. A fun read as a manga but I'm really curious as to how it'll translate to 22-minute episodes.

I like the distinct art style. Otherwise though, conceptually it seems like another 'gimmick' sort of series, where the appeal is to learn about some aspect of the world (in this case candy) via the relationships of characters in a slice-of-life sort of situation. Not interested.

I'm looking forward to this one. I mean, I love Candy Store (Kaede Kagayama) from Non Non Biyori...and this won't be anything like one character. I just love Candy Store. Laughing

Ah, I wish NISA would grab Haiyore! Nyaruko-san F...really want to be able to own the end of the series. Never gonna happen though...

Yeah same, personally I had a bit of a hard time trying to "get it" because I got a little lost in what the heck they were even talking about. It's fun for a good while but not a "OMG I MUST SEE THIS NOW!!" kind of thing. Hope the anime's at least fun, seeing Horikoshi Kouhei draw fanart of the main female lead really made me want to give it a try in the first place.

Another thing I'm wondering about the anime adaptation is whether the real world candy mascots that appear as plot devices will be shown in the anime, whether they'll use "bland name" versions of the mascots with some details changed but not enough that you can't tell who they're supposed to be, or whether the mascot aspect of the story will be dropped entirely.

It's not impossible that Studio feel will actually be cooperating with some of the big Japanese candy manufacturers to license the actual mascots, as nothing too "adult" happens in the manga (well, the chapters I've read).

They already promoting the anime in candy stores so real life reference will be in anime, considering the original manga already done the real candy 'advertising'.

With the mention of actual candy mascots appearing in the anime...all I can now think of Hi-Score Girl and how, apparently, the whole debacle that happened with that manga stemmed from it getting an anime adaption. Laughing
