10th Anniversary Yuruyuri Video Anime Ships on November 13

posted on by Alex Mateo

The official website for the anime of Namori's Yuruyuri manga announced on Tuesday that the the original video anime (OVA) project marking the manga's 10th anniversary will ship on Blu-ray Disc on November 13. The official Twitter account for the anime revealed on Tuesday that the limited-edition Blu-ray Disc for the project's crowdfunding campaign backers will ship in mid-September.

The Blu-ray Disc will also bundle a soundtrack CD that includes the TV size versions of the opening theme song "Yuyuyuri Tenya Wanya☆" and the ending theme song "Ripitte Chime♪."

The new project is titled "Yuruyuri," — pronounced "Yuruyuri ten." The "," or "ten" is a wordplay on the English word "ten" and the Japanese term for a punctuation mark.

The Campfire crowdfunding campaign for the OVA project launched on December 25 and ran until February 15. The campaign raised 87,936,374 yen (about U$825,410), exceeding its base goal of 10 million yen (about US$90,000). The backer rewards for the campaign include CDs with the anime's new opening and ending theme songs, a Blu-ray Disc of the OVA (limited to the crowdfunding campaign), limited event tickets, exclusive booklets, and a shikishi (illustration board) drawn and signed by Namori (for one winner of his or her favorite character).

Daigo Yamagishi (Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion the Animation assistant director, storyboards) is directing the new anime at Lay-duce (Release the Spyce), with scripts by Takahiro (Release the Spyce). Kazutoshi Inoue (episode animation director on Release the Spyce) is the character designer and chief animation director. Pony Canyon is credited as music producer.
