posted on by Egan Loo
Kizuku Watanabe and Jō Aoto will launch Koro-sensei Q! (Quest), a spinoff series based on Yūsei Matsui's Assassination Classroom manga, in the November issue of Shueisha's Saikyō Jump magazine on Friday. The magazine teases that the title character will become a "demon king" at the start of the manga. The magazine issue will also run a feature with information about the second anime season and the second live-action film.
Viz Media is publishing the original manga in North America, and it describes the story:
A humorous and action-packed story about a class of misfits who are trying to kill their new teacher – an alien octopus with bizarre powers and super strength! The teacher has just destroyed the moon and is threatening to destroy the earth – unless his students can destroy him first. What makes things more complicated is that he's the best teacher they've ever had!
The first 22-episode season of the Assassination Classroom anime premiered in Japan on January 9. Funimation streamed the series as it aired. The second season will premiere in January.
The first live-action film opened in Japan on March 21, and the second film will open next spring.
