1st Garo Anime Film's 2nd Teaser Trailer, May Debut, Visual Unveiled

posted on by Egan Loo
Story set 4 years after 1st Garo TV anime

The second teaser trailer for Garo: Divine Flame-, the first Garo anime film, debuted at the "Garo 10-Shūnen Kinen -Makai no En-" (Garo 10th Anniversary Makai Party) event at Chiba's Maihama Amphitheater on Thursday. The event also revealed the film's May opening and previewed a new visual and screenshots from the film. The new teaser is streaming online and will play in theaters starting on Saturday.

In the new visual below, the tagline reads, "This fight, who is it for…." It features the main character Leon Luis as well as the new character Dario.

The film is a sequel set four years after Honō no Kokuin, the first Garo the Animation television series. Director Yuichiro Hayashi, head writer Yasuko Kobayashi, and the anime studio MAPPA are reuniting after working on the first Garo the Animation television series.

The first teaser trailer debuted in November online and at Tokyo's Shinjuku Wald 9 and other theaters that will run the film itself.

The tagline on an earlier visual reads, "A baby born from a mother burned at the stake — What that life inherited, is the fateful title…."

There will be two more live-action television series. The omnibus television series Garo -Makai Retsuden- (pictured above) will reunite the cast members of previous works this spring. The Zerō television series (pictured bottom left in image below) will be a television series version of the Zerō -Black Blood- films that opened in March 2014. Ray Fujita will reprise his starring role this year.
