Sentai Filmworks Licenses Sword Oratoria Anime, Plans Simulcast on Anime Strike

posted on by Karen Ressler

Sentai Filmworks announced on Wednesday that it has licensed the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Sword Oratoria anime under the title Sword Oratoria: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side. The company plans to simulcast the series in the United States on Amazon's Anime Strike streaming service, with new episodes every Friday starting on April 14. The company is also planning a home video release.

Sentai Filmworks describes the story of the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? spinoff:

Ais Wallenstein's life changed forever on the fateful day she met Bell Cranel, but while Bell's story launched him into his future, her story sends her deeper into her past. Within the dungeon's treacherous depths, Ais and the other members of the Loki Familia encounter an irregularity that could threaten not just their party, but their entire world.

Youhei Suzuki (The "Hentai" Prince and the Stony Cat., Urara Meirochō) is serving as the show's new director at J.C. Staff. Writer Hideki Shirane, character designer Shigeki Kimoto, and composer Keiji Inai are returning from the original anime. Iguchi is returning to perform the anime's opening theme song, and Kano will perform the ending theme song "day by day."

Yen Press is releasing the spinoff novel series and its manga adaptation in English, along with the original Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? light novel series and its manga adaptation.
