Aniplus-Asia began streaming an English-subtitled promotional video for the television anime of Junpei Inuzuka's Isekai Shokudō (Restaurant to Another World) light novel series on Monday. The channel will begin airing its simulcast on July 4.
The series will premiere on TV Tokyo on July 3 late at night at 1:35 a.m. (effectively on July 4), before airing on AT-X and BS Japan.
The anime's cast includes:
Junichi Suwabe as the restaurant's shopkeeper
Sumire Uesaka as Aletta, the daughter of a magical being who works at the restaurant one day a week
Saori Ōnishi as Kuro, a waitress at the restaurant
Kiyono Yasuno as Sarah, a treasure hunter
Shizuka Itou as the Red Queen, a legendary demon dragon
Houchu Ohtsuka as Tatsugorō, a great and famous master swordsman
Motomu Kiyokawa as Altorius, a legendary magician and the oldest regular customer at the restaurant
Tomokazu Sugita as Heinrich Seelemann, a knight for a certain dukedom who is the commander of a remote fortress
Fumihiko Tachiki as Alphonse (not pictured)
The original story centers on a restaurant called "Yōshoku no Nekoya" (Western Cuisine Cat Restaurant), which is located on the first basement floor of a building at a corner of a shopping district near an office area. While it normally feeds salarymen, there is a secret in Nekoya. Every Saturday when the shop takes a day off, Nekoya is teeming full of "special customers." For the office workers, it is a familiar place with familiar dishes, but for these Saturday customers — "people from that world" — it is nothing but cuisine never seen or heard before.
Masato Jinbo (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 3rei!!, Chaos;Child) is directing the anime at SILVER LINK, and is also supervising the series' scripts. Takao Sano (Chitose Get You!!, Shomin Sample, Nurse Witch Komugi R) and Keiichi Sano (Heaven's Memo Pad, Strike the Blood, Absolute Duo) are adapting Katsumi Inami's original character designs for animation.
Singer May'n and the voice actress unit Wake Up, Girls! are collaborating on the opening theme song "One in a Billion" under the special collaboration unit "Wake Up, May'n!". Voice actress Kiyono Yasuno is contributing the ending theme song "Chiisana Hitotsubu" (A Small Grain).
