Aniplus Asia to Simulcast Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond Anime

Anime premieres on Sunday, 1st season marathon on Saturday

Aniplus-Asia revealed last Friday that it will air a simulcast of Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond, the second season of the anime of Yasuhiro Nightow's Blood Blockade Battlefront manga. The simulcast will premiere on October 8 at 3:30 a.m. GMT +8.

In addition, Aniplus-Asia will also air all 12 episodes of the first season of Blood Blockade Battlefront in a marathon beginning on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. GMT +8.

The unsung defenders of Hellsalem's Lot return.

In a city fraught with paranormal chaos, the members of the secret organization Libra is tasked with preserving order in the strangest place on Earth. They are led by Blood Battle God Klaus Von Reinherz, and are made up of second-in-command Steven A. Starphase, hoodlum Zapp Renfro, merman Zed O'Brien, invisible werewolf Chain Sumeragi, sharpshooter K.K. and Leonardo Watch, the boy with the ocular power “All Seeing Eyes of God”.

The never-ending party is back with a vengeance!

The anime will premiere in Japan on MBS on October 7 at 27:08 (effectively October 8 at 3:08 a.m.), and will then air on Tokyo MX and BS11 on October 8 at 24:30 (effectively October 9 at 12:30 a.m.).

The returning main cast includes:

BONES is once again animating the new series. Shigehito Takayanagi (Galaxy Angel A, The World God Only Knows, Dagashi Kashi) is taking over as director of the anime from the previous season's Rie Matsumoto, and Yasuko Kamo (Dagashi Kashi) is also taking over series composition duties from Kazunao Furuya. Toshihiro Kawamoto returns as character designer and chief animation director, and Taisei Iwasaki returns to compose the music.

Unison Square Garden is returning to perform the opening theme song "fake town baby" for the anime. DAOKO and Yasuyuki Okamura will perform the anime's ending theme song "Step Up Love."
