Story about CEO pretending to be beggar who falls in love with woman debuts October 14

Fuji TV announced on October 7 that its semiannual Yo nimo Kimyō na Monogatari (Tales of the Unusual) television program will adapt Osamu Tezuka's "Yoru no Koe" (The Voice of the Night) short manga into a live-action special that will debut on Saturday, October 14 at 9:00 p.m.

Tatsuya Fujiwara will play IT company CEO Eiichi, while Marie Iitoyo will play Yuri in the special.

In the original manga, a strict and results-minded company president engages in his hobby of dressing up as a homeless beggar on weekends so that no one will bother him and he is left alone to observe people. While in this persona, a woman named Yuri takes pity on him, and he falls in love with her. He hires Yuri in his own company with the intention of marrying her.

Tezuka published the manga in Akita Shoten's Play Comic magazine in 1974, and Kodansha then published it in the Kūki no Soko collection in 1981. The book received reprints by Daitosha, Akita Shoten, and Kodansha in 1985, 1995, and 2011, respectively.
