Spinoff by Pitch-Black Ten author launches "soon"

Manga creator Kenshiro Sakamoto (Pitch-Black Ten) announced on Twitter on Thursday that he will draw a spinoff of Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail manga titled Fairy Tail: Happy no Daibōken (Fairy Tail: Happy's Grand Adventure). Sakamoto said the manga will launch "soon." As the title suggests, the manga will feature Happy as a protagonist.

Kodansha Comics is releasing Sakamoto's Pitch-Black Ten manga in English digitally.

Mashima revealed a different spinoff manga titled Fairy Tail City Hero on Wednesday. Ushio Andō is providing the story and art. The manga is slated to debut this fall.

Mashima also revealed on Wednesday that there are plans to announce details of his tentatively titled Fairy Tail Zokuhen (Fairy Tail Sequel) spinoff manga soon. Mashima said in April that a Fairy Tail sequel manga is in the works in the form of a spinoff manga. He also stated that he is working on another Fairy Tail spinoff manga. He then stated in May that he is working on a "secret" project.

Mashima launched his Edens Zero manga in this year's 30th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine on Wednesday. The manga is receiving a simultaneous release starting from the first chapter in English, French, Chinese, Korean, and Thai. North American publisher Kodansha Comics is releasing the series in English on outlets such as Crunchyroll Manga, Comixology, and Kindle.
