Sentai Filmworks announced on Tuesday that its release of Made in Abyss: Wandering Twilight (Made in Abyss: Hōrō Suru Tasogare), the second Made in Abyss compilation anime film, will premiere at this year's Anime Central event on May 17 at 8:30 p.m. The premiere will include a red-carpet event, and director Masayuki Kojima, music producer Hiromitsu Iijina, and composer Kevin Penkin will attend a Q&A session.

Sentai Filmworks describes the film:

Made in Abyss: Wandering Twilight follows Riko and Reg on their adventure through the Abyss, picking up directly after the events of Made in Abyss: Journey's Dawn. Riko has learned the truth of her origins, and in the process the mystery surrounding her mother's death has deepened. More determined than ever to travel to the bottom of the Abyss, Riko and Reg leave Ozen's Seeker Camp and delve into the treacherous Third Layer — and beyond, to depths brimming with supernatural creatures, unexpected allies and deadly enemies. Perilous, poignant and spectacular in turns, this continuation of Riko and Reg's journey is sure to leave fans of MADE IN ABYSS absolutely spellbound.

Sentai Filmworks premiered the first compilation film, Made in Abyss: Journey's Dawn, in at Regal Cinema (L.A. LIVE) in Los Angeles on March 15 before it opened in theaters on March 15 and 20. Sentai Filmworks hosted a red-carpet event at the premiere with Kojima, Iijima, Penkin, and producer Shinpei Yamashita as guests. The company also plans to screen Made in Abyss: Wandering Twilight in U.S. theaters this year.

The first film, Made in Abyss: Journey's Dawn (Made in Abyss: Tabidachi no Yoake), opened in Japan on January 4, followed by the second film on January 18.

Gekijōban Made in Abyss: Fukaki Tamashii no Reimei (Made in Abyss the Movie: Dawn of the Deep Soul), the new anime film in the franchise, will open in Japan in January 2020.

Anime Central 2019 will take place from May 17-19 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare and Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. Kenichi Sonoda will attend the convention for the world premiere of the Bean Bandit episode 0 anime. Kinema Citrus CEO Muneki Ogasawara will appear alongside staff members from the Revue Starlight, Made in Abyss, and The Rising of The Shield Hero anime. Cast and staff members for the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime anime – including director Atsushi Nakayama, character designer Ryōma Ebata, and voice actress Miho Okasaki (Rimuru) – will also attend. Voice actress Aya Suzaki will attend, and voice actresses Mai Nakahara and Natsumi Takamori will attend to mark their first appearances at a North American convention.

Asaka, Sayaka Sasaki, TRUE, and ZAQ will perform in a new showcase concert at the event. Anime Central passes will include admission to the concert. The four singers will also participate in autograph sessions and panels.
