CoMix Wave Films, Anime Studio Behind Hit Japanese Film, 'Suzume,' Establishes India-Focused Social Media Presence
CoMix Wave Films (CWF), the Japanese animation studio behind the worldwide hit movie “Suzume” which opened in Japan in 2022, has established an India-focused official Instagram, focused on publishing information relevant to fans living in India. The official Instagram will share the day-to-day workings of the company's India team as well as information about anime. At CWF, we are seeking to diversify our animation offerings in India, and the new Instagram account is the first step to making that happen.
Regarding CWF's India-focused official Instagram
In 2019, the CWF-produced, Makoto Shinkai-directed “Weathering With You” received a premier screening in New Delhi thanks to a petition signed by over 50,000 fans. It was the first Japanese original anime film to receive wide release in India, and Director Shinkai attended the screening and introduced the film.
Then, following the release of the new film “Suzume” in November 2022, it was shown in 199 countries and regions worldwide, including an April 2023 opening in India. Director Makoto Shinkai visited Mumbai to introduce the film and attend sessions with the fan community, and the film's reception as "the most watched Japanese movie ever in India" are just a few parts of CWF's expansion of its animation culture into India.
At CWF, we want to continue to connect India to Japanese animation, raise awareness of CWF among India's people, and continue to spread awareness of our animation culture. To this end, we established our India-focused Instagram on October 1, to create a basis to connect to even more fans living in India.
The channel will post images showing the day-to-day at CWF, introduce followers to the kind of company CWF is, share information about anime relevant to India, and further increase our visibility to fans of animation.
